Stats

The Basics

Stats determine how fast and strong among other things that your character is. Stats differ from person to person, and can be used to shape a character into a fighting machine, or utterly destroy them if done improperly. The four basic stats for Falling Star are Strength, Speed, Endurance, and Dexterity. Below you’ll find a detailed description about each of those stats along with other information needed to make your choices.

Each stat can go up to a total of FIVE points, but no higher. FIVE is the absolute max that a stat can go. Zero is the lowest a stat is capable of going, it is the baseline that each stat starts out at until points are applied. You can only earn up to a total of FIFTEEN stat points per character, no more than that can be achieved (this means that you can earn an additional 8 stat points to put where you please on top of the 7 points you’re given at the beginning of your application process).

Starting Stats / The Application Process

When making your character you’ll see that on the application there’s an area to put in your stats.

Stat Example:

Once you’ve made your choices and your character application has been approved your stats will be imputed by a member of staff. Everyone starts off with SEVEN points that can be put into any stat that you’d like. However, once those seven points have been used up and your character has been approved you cannot go back and change your stats (not without going through the stat change process) so choose wisely so that you don’t regret it later.

Rerolling Stats

While currency isn’t often needed on Falling Star this is one area where it is. For each time you’d like to reroll you must pay 5,000 currency. The process of changing your stat points is simple: you go into the proper page that can be found –URL link here-. You post stating what your stats are currently and then what you’d like each changed to.

Rerolling Example:

As long as the points you started with still equal up to the points that you’d have at the end of your reroll, and none of the other stat rules are broken, and you have the currency ON THAT CHARACTER you’ll be allowed to change your stats. You cannot use currency from one character to change the stats on another character.

Earning More Stat Points

You can earn up to an additional EIGHT stat points on top of those your character is given. To do this it is simply a matter of training. For each point you’d like to earn you must put forth a training thread of 500 words. You CANNOT use filler, nor can you copy/paste stories or role-plays from other sites. Your character IS allowed to have flashbacks or daydreams of things that have happened or might happen on Falling Star.

When you’re done with your training thread (which can be done in whatever location your character is currently in) you post a link to the URL –insert link here-. Make sure you put what your word count is and how many stat points you’re training. Any leftover word count can be saved for later trainings, just make sure you make a mark of it in your next training thread and provide a link to the thread where the leftover word count is located.

Stat Point Training Approval Process Example:

Adding Approved Stat Points to your Current Stats Example:

Once your stats points are trained you then go into the appropriate thread found –insert link here- and make a post stating what your stats currently are, how many points you’ve trained, and what you’d like your stats changed to.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE STAFF CHANGE ALL OF YOUR STATS. THIS PROCESS IS SIMPLY FOR ADDING POINTS THAT YOU’VE EARNED. IF YOU WANT YOUR STATS CHANGED COMPLETELY THEN YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE REROLLING PROCESS.

PLEASE DO NOT PESTER STAFF TO CHECK YOUR THREADS ONCE YOU’VE POSTED THEM. WE WILL IGNORE THEM IF YOU BADGER US. WE WANT THE CHANCE TO ROLE-PLAY AND CHILL JUST THE SAME AS YOU DO, AND WE WILL GET TO THEM WHEN WE GET THE CHANCE!

The Stat’s Descriptions

Strength
Strength governs everything from how hard we can swing a weapon, how hard we can hit someone, to how much our characters are capable of lifting. Strength differs from one person to the next, and not all characters are capable of the same feats of strength. Strength is broken down into a very simple equation and the points in which you allot your character will determine what sorts of feats of strength they’re capable of.
0 Points – This is average human strength. Your character can lift anything up roughly 300 points without harming themselves. They can do basic damage with any sort of blunt weapon (crack skulls, smash cinderblocks, punch holes in walls).
1 Point – This is above average strength for a human. At this point your character is capable of bending most metals, as well causing a greater array of destruction. They will dent bone if they hit someone in the head or break bones if they strike anyone anywhere else on their body.
2 Points – At this point your character is capable of lifting cars (or the equivalent weight of said object) and throwing them roughly twenty or so feet. They can bust through buildings within two posts (except pure stone like those of a castle).
3 Points – Your character is now capable of bending hardened steel with ease. Throwing buses and mini vans are likewise in your characters ability.
